Description
Experience the delightful flavor of crispy lentil croquettes made in an air fryer, perfect for any meal or gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200 g red lentils (soft cooked)
- 100 g breadcrumbs (gluten-free preferred)
- 1 tsp spices (e.g., cumin, paprika)
- 50 g oats or almond flour (for gluten-free)
- 1 onion (finely chopped and sautéed)
- Optional add-ins (e.g., feta, sweet potato)
Instructions
- Prepare the lentils: Cook the red lentils in lightly salted water until soft, avoiding mushiness for the right texture.
- Sauté the onions: Heat oil in a pan and sauté the finely chopped onions until golden and translucent.
- Combine all ingredients: In a large bowl, mix cooked lentils, sautéed onions, oats (or almond flour), breadcrumbs, and spices until a moldable mixture forms.
- Shape croquettes: Take small portions of the mixture and form them into even croquettes, ensuring they are not too thick for even cooking.
- Cook in the air fryer: Place the formed croquettes in the air fryer. Set the temperature to 180 °C and cook for 15 minutes, flipping halfway for even crispness.
- Serve warm: Remove the croquettes once golden brown, let them cool slightly, and enjoy with your favorite sauce.
Notes
These croquettes can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen before cooking for longer preservation.
