Description

A flavorful combination of sticky sushi rice, crispy Spam, and umami-rich nori, perfect for a snack or hearty meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can Spam
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 4 sheets nori
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mirin (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook sushi rice according to package instructions.
  2. Combine soy sauce, sugar, and mirin in a small bowl and heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Slice Spam into thick pieces and fry until golden brown.
  4. Prepare a nori sheet on a clean surface, shiny side down.
  5. Spread a thin layer of rice on the nori, leaving some space on one edge.
  6. Add a slice of fried Spam on top of the rice.
  7. Layer with more rice and carefully roll the nori around the filling.
  8. Cut Spam Musubi into bite-sized pieces and serve.

Notes

Can be made vegan by replacing Spam with marinated tofu. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
